THB hotels renews its Ecostars certification for 2026, reinforcing the hotel group's ongoing commitment to environmental management and the continuous improvement of its processes.

At THB hotels, we work to incorporate environmental criteria into the management of our properties with measures related to resource use, waste management, emissions reduction and the ongoing improvement of our processes.
We have once again successfully passed the ECOSTARS 2026 recertification audit, continuing the assessment of our hotels’ environmental performance. This certification allows for the analysis of various aspects of hotel operations based on a specific methodology and helps identify areas for improvement in the environmental management of our properties.
MEASURING FOR ONGOING PROGRESS
Environmental management also involves understanding our impact on the destinations in which we operate. In order to improve, we first need to know where we stand and how our activity affects our surroundings. In this regard, Ecostars enables us to assess our hotels’ environmental performance through a specific methodology that takes into account various aspects of hotel operations, including energy and water consumption, waste management and emissions.
The assessment covers areas such as energy and water consumption, waste management and circularity, our carbon footprint, use of sustainable products, food, and certain social aspects. This approach offers insight into how each of these areas contributes to a property's overall impact and allows us to identify aspects where there is still room for improvement.
Successfully completing a recertification audit means far more than simply renewing a recognition: it involves reviewing and reassessing the requirements established by the certification system. It is an opportunity to test our environmental management model once again and review how we carry out our various processes.
