22Our Kiciclo rolls into Son Espases Hospital!
So what exactly is a Kiciclo? Basically, this new and ingenious invention is a tricycle with a built-in drip, so that littles ones can have fun zipping along the hospital corridors and receive their treatment at the same time. A clever solution for a challenging situation that adds an extra dose of optimism.
Thanks to Kiciclo, minors receiving treatment for cancer at the Son Espases University Hospital in Palma, Majorca, can now enjoy some fun and games during their extended stays in hospital to combat their illness.
This innovative project was launched by the Madrid-based company Ciclos Otero and the Juegaterapia Foundation to enable children in hospital receiving chemotherapy to have fun playing and pedalling up and down the hospital corridors.
Thanks to our supplier Textil Insular, the hospital has received a Kiciclo with a THB hotels number plate, which we consider to be a real honour and a true privilege. Indeed, our small contribution to an initiative like this is a cause of immense pride for us.
Before making any procurement decisions, we make sure that our suppliers act in an ethical and responsible manner both towards society in general and the environment. The offer to donate to this magnificent project 2% of the amount invoiced was undoubtedly a key factor in our decision to work with this company.
We wish to extend our most sincere thanks to Textil Balear, Ciclos Otero, Juegaterapia and everyone that has worked, works and will continue to work on making this project grow, helping children with cancer to play freely and with a smile on their faces.
As the little ones put it, “Chemo and play make time fly by!”
