Each December for several years now, THB hotels has run a campaign to raise money for good causes, following the spirit of the Boxing Day tradition. This initiative is part of our efforts to care for our environment.
In December 2021, we launched the “BOXING DAY. BOXING SEA CARE” campaign on our official website, offering a 15% discount to everyone booking their 2022 holiday at any of our hotels. Five per cent of the booking total would go to the Tursiops Association, which defends the marine environment and in particular the sperm whales that live there. The money raised would support the Balearic Sperm Whale Project, which is focused on the study of sperm whale populations in the Balearic Sea in order to develop and apply management and conservation proposals and measures for the protection of this extraordinary animal, of which so little is known in the Mediterranean.
On 3rd February, we officially handed over the donation to representatives of the Tursiops Association at the THB Felip hotel in Porto Cristo (Mallorca). During the meeting, they expressed their gratitude and we expressed our conviction that they are the ones that deserve full recognition for their work and efforts.
In 2022 we will continue to work on the goals set out for our ECO friendly project, as part of our commitment to sustainability and actively caring for our planet. Our mission is to offer our guests a responsible and environmentally friendly holiday experience.
