This is the second year that THB hotels has donated to the scientific organisation CEAMAR the takings obtained in 2019 for the euro we ask our guests to give for any extra beach towel washes during their stay with us. CEAMAR carries out the vital mission of protecting our oceans and sea life. It also conducts research and runs educational and dissemination projects for the conservation of cetaceans, sea turtles and their habitats.
Our ECO friendly brand reflects our commitment to sustainability and the active fight to protect our planet. We aim to provide our guests with an environmentally friendly and responsible holiday experience; a goal that requires the cooperation and involvement of all THB hotels staff, as well as the customers that choose to stay with us.
As we have explained on previous occasions, we are working to reduce and eventually eliminate disposable plastics from all our hotels and central offices, and have also introduced organic paper and recyclable materials. We provide information and advice on how to save water and energy; and have installed recycling points in all the THB hotels. What’s more, all renovation work carried out on our hotels includes improvements to building energy efficiency, based on a series of actions that includes thermal bridge break aluminium frames; the installation of heat recovery ventilation systems capable of supplying the entire hotel with hot water; and LED lighting.
Much remains to be done, and many additional measures are required to tackle and halt climate change. Our organisation has made a firm undertaking to do everything in its power to bring about a change of direction for our planet.
